In 2016, we purchased our home in Sun City West. The major selling point was the Arizona room that allowed us to enjoy the beauty of our patio year round (or so we thought).

The aluminum roof was generating heat into the room. We did some research in the area, and in 2017, found a contractor who came out to talk to us about fixes we could do to the room to make it more suitable for our needs. One of the suggestions he made was to incorporate spray foam insulation onto our roof to keep the room cooler. As per that General Contractor, “this process has been done on numerous industrial buildings and it would be the perfect solution” to solve our problem. Needless to say, we had major problems from day one! The roof leaked, we called the General Contractor and the Foam installer came back out and sprayed more foam. This happened numerous times and the leaks were getting worse! In April of 2018, I reported the problem to the Registrar of Contractors. It was determined that the foam was not installed correctly. The shoddy workmanship had caused “peaks and valleys” and water was collecting on the roof. The seams of the aluminum had bent, because of the excessive weight of the foam and the water, the roof was not fixable and needed to be replaced. The General Contractor did not return phone calls. In the meantime, I’m putting out bins and buckets to catch the water that was pouring into my house!

I started researching contractors, again. I now needed the roof to be removed and replaced. I wanted something that would be waterproof and insulated. Numerous companies came out with quotes and bids. Some could not match the curve of the structure, some come could only replace the roof with the aluminum (no insulation). Some were overpriced, some could not remove the original structure, (I would have to do that by another company), some were no longer installing Patio Roofs! Then Midwest Patio Covers, LLC responded to my cry for help!

Matt Frami, the owner of Midwest Patio Covers, called and came out to measure and scope the job. His quote was very fair. He pointed out issues that would need to be addressed, so there were no “sticker shock” surprises from the get go!

Matt was great to work with! His workmanship was outstanding and he was very fair in his pricing! He was very punctual and professional! I requested a few add on items, which Matt was very accommodating!

The room was finished well within the scope of his timeframe! Even with the extra work I added!

I can’t tell you how happy I am with the final product and Midwest Patio Covers! Mr. Frami is a wonderful gentleman and contractor!
